RED LION-Carol-Ann (Burgen) Neuman, 57, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011, at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Steven Lee Neuman to whom she was married 39 years. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with the Rev. Keith Hartlaub officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the request of the family. Carol-Ann was born August 27, 1953, in York, the daughter of the late Ralph and Ferne (Roseman) Burgen. She was a 1971 graduate of Red Lion High School and continued her education at York College, earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. She was a former nurse at the Lebanon VA Medical Center for more than 15 years until her retirement in 1999. Carol-Ann was an avid sports fan, who loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and boxing. She also enjoyed reading and listening to audio books in her spare time. In addition to her husband, Carol-Ann is survived by two sons, Christopher Allen Neuman and fiance, Tiffany Lynn Wlazlowski of Washington, D.C., and Aaron Keith Neuman and wife, Jodi Lee of York; two grandchildren, Austin Richard Decker and Riley Nicole Neuman; two brothers, Loren Burgen and wife, Nancy of York, and Kevin Burgen of Red Lion; a brother-in-law, Maurice Keesey; several nieces and nephews; and a best friend, Virginia Becker of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Lynn Keesey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central PA Chapter, 2040 Linglestown Road, Suite 104, Harrisburg, PA, 17110.
