GLEN ROCK- Carol R. (Young) Dohme, 80, of Springfield Township, passed peacefully at her home and sanctuary with her family and much loved birds, cats and dogs on Monday, April 18, 2016 at her residence. She was the spouse of Donna L. Alford. The couple was together 38 years. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm at St. James Episcopal Church, 19200 York Road in Parkton, MD on May 7, 2016 with a luncheon and time to share memories following the service in the church social hall. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd in York is assisting the family with the arrangements. Carol was born in Baltimore, MD on January 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Roland and Hoen (Affeld) Young. She worked for the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center in Towson, MD and was a parrot breeder for her Blue Moon Avian Nursery. Carol was an avid collector of WWII memorabilia and an antique and flea market enthusiast. Carol leaves two sons, William T. Dohme, Jr. of Berlin, MD and Robert C. Dohme of Kingsville, MD; a daughter, Jessica M. Dohme of Dallastown; two grandchildren Brianna L. Fitzgibbons and William T. Fitzgibbons, III, both of Dallastown; numerous nieces and nephews and a cousin Alice R. Belth of Parkville, MD. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Ziehl. Memorial contributions may be made to Access York, 633 S. George Street, York, PA 17401 or to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2040 Linglestown Rd. #104, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
