Carol Dianne Harvey

YORK - Carol Dianne (Royston) Harvey, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 12, 2010, after a lengthy illness. She died peacefully, with her husband and family by her side. She was the loving wife of Dr. A. Neil Harvey, with whom she shared more than 51 years of marriage. Born August 30, 1938, in York, she was the daughter of Merle and Almeda (Ayers) Royston, of York. She was a member of the Class of 1956 at Susquehannock High School and continued to enjoy reunion activities up to the time of her illness. She was also a graduate of York Beauty School and became a licensed beautician. She retired from the Dallastown School District after 19 years of service in the high school library. Carol was a lover of life. She loved to entertain, write poetry, read, travel, spend time with great friends and was an avid gift giver. Her passion, however, was her family. Prior to her illness, not a game or event went by that she was not on the sidelines cheering on her grandchildren and sons. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Dallastown. In addition to her parents, and her loving and devoted husband, she leaves her two sons, Torance N. Harvey and his wife, Susan of Dallastown, and Brent A. Harvey and his wife, Amanda of Dallastown; three grandchildren, Nathan Harvey, Gavin Harvey and Weslyn Carol Harvey; and two sisters, Glenda Taylor of Shrewsbury and Sharon Moore of Hellam. She also had an incredible team of physicians, surgeons, and nurses from Boston to York that took the journey with her. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 16 at St Paul's United Church of Christ, 205 W. Main St., Dallastown with the Rev. Richard Barley and the Rev. Russell D. Clark officiating. Burial will be at New Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place Red Lion and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's U.C.C., 205 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313 or to the SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406 or to the York Cancer Center Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd., Suite 194, York, PA 17403.
