TROY- Carol Ann (Swales) Husband, 87, of Troy, PA passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Twin Oakes Personal Care Home in Granville Summit, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald W. Husband who passed away on July 25, 1996. The couple married in 1948 and had 48 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-800 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Carol’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 18th at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, 1030 West Main Street Troy, PA with Pastor Bill Bardo officiating. Burial will private and at the convenience of Carol’s family in Glenwood Cemetery. Carol was born on February 27, 1925 in Kingston, PA, daughter of the late Ernest and Jeanette (Powell) Swales. She was a Forty Fort High School graduate, Class of 1943. She worked for Gustin’s Jewelry Store in Troy and volunteered at Troy Community Hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, the church’s Thursday Study Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star in Towanda. She volunteered at the Croman Elementary School and was given the Outstanding Service Award by the district for her efforts at the school. Carol is survived by her sons: Dr. Ronald (Virginia) Husband of Honey Brook, PA, Allen (Rose Ann) Husband of Williamsport, PA, and Dr. Richard (Cynthia) Husband of Granville Summit, PA, her grandchildren: Andrew (Erin) Husband of West Chester, PA, Meredith (Michael) Bartles of Paoli, PA, Christopher Husband of Wellsboro, PA, Chelsea (Nathan) Foust of Suffolk, VA, and Emily Husband of Philadelphia, PA, her step-granddaughters Valerie and Amy Sciacca, both of Williamsport, PA, her great granddaughters Lucy and Annabelle, her step-great grandchildren: Cameron, Gabriel, Emma, and Avant, along with several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald, and her sister Betty Swales. Memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s memory to the Twin Oakes Personal Care Home Activity Fund, 1100 Cowley Road Granville Summit, PA 16926.
