Carol Ann Hilt

Felton-Carol Ann “Tutty” Hilt, 77, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 at her residence. She was the wife of Earl L. Hilt. The couple celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on September 24, 2021. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Viewings will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m., both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery. Carol was a volunteer for many organizations, including Dallastown Cougars Football, Red Lion Girls Softball, where she received awards. She was volunteer of the year for three years straight for Hospice of York and for two years for the Agency on Aging in York. She received a Citizen Award signed by Governor Robert Casey, and was nominated for the Jefferson award several times. She was an active member and past president of American Legion post 543, and VFW post1445 of Red Lion, life member of Scotland School, a member of 8/40 Salon 852 in Dallastown, and an active member of Laurel Fire Company and Felton Fire Company. She played Santa Clause and Easter Bunny in the Red Lion area for needy children, nursing homes, and day cares. She also enjoyed donating toys, food and stuffed animals. She enjoyed playing poker and BINGO. Carol was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Gertrude M. (Siedenstrickler) Herbst. She leaves five children, Clinton Hilt of Felton, Elaine Overmiller of Red Lion, Heidi Ferg of Airville, Tempest Delp of Windsor, April Nicholson of Windsor; three brothers, Richard, Edward, and Ricky Herbst: and two sisters, Susan Bankart, and Stacey Hunter; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gene Hilt; two brothers, Eugene and Donald Herbst; and a sister, June Miller.
