Carol A. (Gabrielsen) Frerichs

YORK Carol A. (Gabrielsen) Frerichs, 74, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Monday, January 24, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert D. Frerichs. A visitation will be held from 3-4:00 PM Saturday February 5th, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Funeral Chapel with Betty Frey, Certified Celebrant officiating. Born March 22, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late George and Gladys (Thompson) Gabrielsen, she graduated high school in Brooklyn. Mrs. Frerichs was a dedicated homemaker who cherished spending time with her husband and family. She was a devout animal lover and enjoyed bird watching, painting, gardening, and reading. Carol was the proud mother of Janet A. Harlacher of Dover; Herbert D. Frerichs, Jr. of Timonium, MD and Warren C. Frerichs of Butler, NJ; wonderful mother-in-law to Brent, Mary, and Julie; loving grandmother of Kristen, Brian, Douglas, Eric, Mary Kate, Colleen, and Liam; and thankful aunt to Marilyn, Linda, Anita, Phyllis, Claire, and Elaine. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger A. Frerichs; and a brother, George C. Gabrielsen. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2449 S. Queen St., York, PA 17402.
