Carmen Romano

WELLSBURG, NY - Carmen "Vic" Romano, Sr. Age 76, of Main Street, Wellsburg, NY passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Towanda Memorial Hospital. Carmen was born April 18, 1933 in Frankfort, NY son of the late Ferdinand & Fannie Romano. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country with the US Army from 1953 to 1962. He and the former Esther R. Pallone were married June 15, 2001 in Montour Falls, NY. Carmen was retired from Ithaca College where he worked in the food service department. Survivors include his wife Esther R. Romano of Wellsburg, stepchildren, Charles & Veronica Chaffee of Elmira and Rosetta & William Wood of Horseheads, brother, Andrew & Geri Romano of Elmira, brother-in-law, Andrew Carboni, eleven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Carmen was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Martha Carboni. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 3 PM and 4 to 6 PM Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6 PM with Deacon George Welch officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY.
