Carmela A. Romanelli

YORK- Carmela A. (Benitto) Romanelli, 97, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at The Brunswick at Longstown in York. She was the wife of the late Michael Romanelli. A visitation for the public will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. A memorial service can be viewed starting at about 11 a.m. on the Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory’s Facebook page (the service is private at the funeral home). Mrs. Romanelli was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 17, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Luigi and Vincenza (Auchero) Benitto. She was a homemaker. In her early years she worked for the Department of Defense Armory in New York and then for Burlington Coat Factory as an inspector. Mrs. Romanelli was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in The Bronx, where she enjoyed church activities and playing BINGO. She enjoyed crocheting doilies and was a member of a cousin’s club where she enjoyed travelling, especially a memorable trip to Mexico. Mrs. Romanelli leaves a son, Anthony Romanelli and his wife Sharon of Red Lion; two daughters, Lena Vega of Dallastown and Lorraine Ricco of Florida; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
