Carl W. Lehr

YORK- Carl W. “Butch” Lehr, 80, of West York Borough, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Billet) Lehr. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on August 4, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Certified Celebrant Debe Snyder will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Butch was born in York on August 27, 1937, the son of the late William R. and Anna M. (Furst) Lehr. He retired from Caterpillar in York. Butch was a member of Camp Empty Hunting Club, The National Rifle Association, and East Berlin Fish and Game. Along with his wife Patricia, Butch leaves two sons, Shawn M. Lehr and his wife Martha of Dover, and Douglas E. Lehr and his wife Barbara of Birdsboro, PA; five grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, Anne, Brandon, and Evan; three brothers, Melvin, Gary, and Terry Lehr; a sister, Alverta Melton; and nieces and nephews.
