RENOVO - Carl R. Gregory, 71, passed away at Williamsport Hospital on May 14, 2009, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Renovo on August 26, 1937, son of the late Max and Esther Stenman Gregory. Carl graduated from Renovo High School in 1955, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 until 1959. He worked for 15 years for Frank Speno Railroad in Syracuse, N.York, Berwick Forge, Ransdorf Brothers, and was a truck driver for Smith Lumber Co. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #334. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, and loved working in his garage and garden. He especially enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. Carl is survived by his loving wife: Dolores A. "Dee" (Gorman) Gregory whom he married on Dec. 26, 1963. Also surviving are his daughters: Christine (Jeff) Hoffman of Lewistown, Stephanie (Rich) Taylor of Renovo, and Jacqueline (John) Hogg of Ulysses. He is survived by six grandchildren whom he loved very much: Carl (Abby) Burrows of Jersey Shore, Nicole Gregory of Castanea, Michelle (David) Reese of Lock Haven, Christopher (Mary Anne) Burrows of Ellsworth A.F. Base, S. Dakota, Stephen Hogg of Ulysses, and Shawna Poorman of Renovo. Also surviving is a great granddaughter: Haley Christine Burrows, brother: Lester (Aleta) Gregory of Boerne, Texas, sister: Dorothy Conser of Renovo and several nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded by one brother: Robert. In keeping with Carl's request, there will be no visitation or services. Memorial donations in his memory are requested to the Elks Lodge roof repair fund.
