WELLSBURG- Carl J. Ross, 64, of Ridgebury Township, PA went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from his home with his wife and good friend Rick Barnes by his side. He was the loving husband of Liz (Souto) Ross. The couple married July 4, 1998 and had 15 happy years together. Carl was born on November 15, 1948 in Waverly, NY, son of the late Joseph Ross and Arlie (Case) Ross Quinn. He attended Sayre High School and then North East Bradford High School and was a graduate in 1966, and went on to attend and graduate from Keystone College in La Plume, PA. After college, Carl went to work on the Lehigh Valley Railroad, then Sylvania and IBM, and retired in 2004 from Lockheed Martin. He attended the Central Assembly of God Church in Horseheads, NY, and in the past attended and taught Sunday School at the Athens Presbyterian Church. Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing volleyball, basketball, and baseball, playing golf in a league at Sheppard Hills Country Club, and watching football on TV. Carl also enjoyed traveling with his wife Liz and spending time with his family and friends. Carl is survived by his wife Liz, his children Michael Ross of Sayre, PA and his daughter Debra Ross-Campbell of Lock Haven, PA, his grandchildren Mason and Skylar Campbell, his sister Rose Marie Hennessey of Orlando, FL, his sister-in-law Gwen Ross, along with several nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph Ross. Family and friends are welcome to call from 12:00-1:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. The memorial service to honor Carl’s life will be held following the visitation at 1:00 on Saturday, July 13th at the funeral home with his pastor, Rev. Steven Shinn officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to the Central Assembly of God Church, 1 Brenway Drive, Horseheads, NY 14845 or to Guthrie Hospice 421 Tomahawk Rd, Towanda, PA 18848.
