MILTON - Carl D. Bitler, Sr., 87 passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Rockwell Center, Milton after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 09, 1924 in Philadelphia a son of the late James Dietrick and Elizabeth (Lunger) Dietrick. Carl was married to Lois who also passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Kramm Healthcare, Milton. They were married for 65 years. Carl served in the Army as a Staff Sargent during World War II. Carl worked for thirty-eight years at the Milton MFG. as a shipping supervisor. He was also as past president of the AFLCIO. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, football, and puzzles. He is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law; Carl Jr. of Whitehall, PA, Walter T. and Barbara of Webster, NY, and Richard T. of Milton, PA. Six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren also survive Carl. Besides his parent’s two sisters Erma and Mildred and two brothers Walter and Henry (Bud) Dietrick preceded in death. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Twin Hill’s Memorial Park, Muncy. The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
