Carl Antolick, Sr.

POTTSVILLE_ Carl Antolick, Sr., 88, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. Born in Eckley, PA, Luzerne County, on May 7, 1923, he was a son of the late George and Anna Kleitz Antolick. Carl was a graduate of Foster High School. Following high school, he served in the Army during World War II. Carl and his wife Peg, owned and operated the former Carl’s Grocery Store, 718 West Market Street, Pottsville, for 42 years before they retired. Carl was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #67, Catholic War Vets and the Pottsville Club, all of Pottsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Lillian Chuckra, Irene Donati and Anna Duna; and his six brothers. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret “Peg” B. Zachar Antolick, of Pottsville; his daughter, Carol Hostetter, wife of Rick, of Reading; his son, Carl Antolick, Jr., husband of Andrea, of Pottsville; his three grandchildren, Tara Dively, wife of Justin, Leslie Antolick and Carl Antolick III, husband of Keri; his two great grandchildren, Gabriel and Sophia Dively; his twin brother, Thomas Antolick, husband of Eleanor, of Flourtown, PA; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3rd & West Arch Streets, Pottsville. Reverend Harold Hand will officiate. Family and friends may call on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the church. Interment with military honors will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
