Calvin L. Hudson

WILLIAMSPORT - Calvin L. Hudson, 81, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Rose View Center surrounded by family. He was married to the former Beverly A. (Goins) who died on March 12, 1994. They were married for 38 years at the time of her death. Calvin was born on August 10, 1933 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Eden and Ethel (Stills) Hudson. He graduated in 1951 from Williamsport High School. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1956. Calvin worked at Trimtex and then Tetley Tea, where he retired in 1996 after 21 years of service. Calvin was a member of the Men’s Group at the Center and enjoyed studying the bible, hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and harmonica, singing, stamp collecting and coin collecting. He was well known for his walks all over town where he often met new people. He is survived by one daughter; Calvetta A. Walker of Williamsport, three grandchildren; Richelle A. Walker and Janelle L. Walker, both of Williamsport and Shalese James-Perez of Florida, two great-grandchildren; Brooklyn Perez and London Perez, one sister; Doris E. Brown (Raymond) of New Jersey and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son; Eden Hudson, one foster son; Jeffrey Olson and two brothers; Robert and Donald Hudson. In keeping with the wishes of Calvin, there will be no services. Burial will be held in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
