C. Mervin Miller

YORK- C. Mervin "Merv" Miller, 78, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Mazie M. (Lewis) Miller to whom he was married for 58 years on August 2, 2009. A celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Duke Horton officiating. A viewing will be held 9-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will following in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Miller was born January 18, 1931 in York, a son of the late Harry W. and Laura M. (Wineka) Miller. He was formally a truck driver for Pennfield Corporation for 31 years until his retirement in 1991. In Mr. Miller's free time, he would be found farming, mowing, plowing snow, landscaping or other various outdoor activities. He was an excellent handyman and enjoyed building and collecting. He also loved meeting his friends for lunch. In addition to his wife, Mazie, Mr. Miller is survived by a son, Thomas A. Miller; three daughters, Barb J. Byrd and husband Randy, Donna F. Gauker and husband Scott, all of York, and Ann Marie Robertson of Rock Hill Furnace, PA; five grandsons, Matthew Gauker, Shayne Byrd, Kyle Samuels, and Seth and Wade Robertson; three brothers, Russel, Luther, and Milo Miller; two sisters, Beulah Ness and Anna Rodes; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Chris L. Miller; four brothers, Milton, John, Paul and Elmer Miller; five sisters, Alice Fake, Dorothy Kinard, Janet Colvin and Mary and Sara Miller; and son-in-law Jeffery Robertson.
