Red Lion—Burnell M. Patterson, 70, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at his residence in Red Lion Borough. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4 pm, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A visitation will be held from 3-4 pm, Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born June 2, 1941 in Windsor, he was a son of the late Parker W. Patterson Sr., and Hilda E. (Waltemyer) Patterson. He was employed with Johnson Controls in the Weld Shop for 37 years until his retirement in 2002. A Life Member of the Yorkana Rod and Game Club, he was also a member of the United Auto Workers—Local 1872. An outdoorsman who loved hunting everything from small game to elk, he also enjoyed antique shopping, watching his grandsons baseball games and dirt track racing. Mr. Patterson is survived by one daughter, Barbara A. Knisely and husband Tim, of Red Lion, two grandchildren, Kyle and Jared Knisely of Red Lion, companion, Ruth A. Frankfort of Red Lion, two brothers, Parker Patterson Jr., of Red Lion and Karl Patterson of Windsor, one sister, Charlotte Wallace of E. Prospect and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marian Tyson and Phyllis Tyson and one brother, Kenneth Patterson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made VNA Hospice Services, 912 S. George Street, York, Pa 17403.
