Bruce E. Manning

MILTON - Bruce E. "Cap" Manning Sr., 90, entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Evangelical Community Hospital. He was the loving husband of Helen M. (Rebar) Manning. The couple was married 71 years this December 3rd. Born November 26, 1916 in Milton, a son of the late Drew E. and Lottie R. (Ranck) Manning. Bruce attended Milton Area High School. He was self employed as a roofing contractor until he retired in 1986. Bruce was a lifetime member of the Shimer's Hose Company and worshiped at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton. Bruce enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved being with his family. In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by three sons, Bruce E. Manning Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Summerton, SC, Terry Manning and his wife, Nancy of Watsontown, and Donald Manning and his wife, Rhonda of Danville; two daughters, Joyce and her husband, Donald Judy of Mill Creek, Washington, and Barbara and her husband, Donald Colburn of Harrisburg; 6 grandchildren, Timothy Manning, Sandra Dunn, Steve Manning, Michelle Nixon, Michelle Judy, and Doug Judy; five great-grandchildren, Brian and Brittany Manning, Caitlin Dunn, Bronwyn Dunn, and Colin Dunn. He is preceded in death by one brother, Larue "Dusty" Manning; one sister, Marcella Manning and one infant daughter. Funeral Services will be provided by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, Inc., 125 N. Front St., Milton and are private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahoning Manor, Milton, PA 17847 or a charity of your choice. Bruce Manning was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather , and great-grandfather. He was an excellent role model and will be greatly missed.
