YORK- Bruce A. Fetrow, 66 of Manchester Township, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Cheryl L. (Yohe) Fetrow. The couple celebrated their 12th anniversary on April 1, 2012. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday July 29, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 1-2:30 p.m., with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard at the start of the service. Bruce was born in Newberry Township on May 11, 1946, son of the late Bruce Fetrow and Pauline A. Aughenbaugh of York and her husband the late Gordon Aughenbaugh. He worked for Consolidated Scrap Resources since 2002 and previously for York International for 34 years. Bruce was a 1965 graduate of Dallastown High School. He was a life member of: Viking A. A., Prince A. A., South End Democratic Club, and a member of: Shiloh American Legion, and Dart League, West York VFW, 13th Ward, Hawks Gunning Club, Tunnel Hill Gun Club, Vigilant Social Club, and York International 25 Year Club and Club 42. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his granddaughters. He enjoyed horses, horse races, poker, going on cruises, and just enjoyed life to the fullest. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS DaSota County LST 1171, during the Vietnam War. Bruce leaves a son Bryan Fetrow and his wife Tiffany of Red Lion; a daughter, Brittany Fetrow-Manning and her husband CJ; stepchildren, Todd Barshinger and his wife Wendy and Matthew Barshinger and his wife Michelle; four granddaughters, Loryn, Kendall, Viera, and baby Amirah; step grandchildren, Greer, Kara, Cody, Cameron, Natalie, Caryn, Livia, and Benjamin; brothers, Robert Fetrow and Gary Aughenbaugh, sisters Lori Trout-Whitebread and Sandy Aughenbaugh;and a step sister, Lana Oaster and his former wife Beth (Stump) Butler. He was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Fetrow. Memorial contributions may be made to Manchester Township Parks and Recreation, Bruce Fetrow Bench Fund, 3200 Farm Trail Rd., York, PA 17406.
