Brenda O. (Snyder) Shorts

WEST YORK – Brenda O. (Snyder) Shorts, 74, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. She was the wife of James E. “Jim” Shorts to whom she was married for 57 years. A gathering of friends and viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Born July 14, 1940 in Yoe, a daughter of the late John B. and Sarah S. (Eberly) Snyder, she had worked as a nurse’s assistant at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home and both York and Memorial Hospitals. Mrs. Shorts had also worked at Green’s Dairy. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, enjoyed making crafts, and had been active with West York Wrestling Booster Club. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Shorts is survived by three sons, James E. Shorts, Jr. and wife Gayle of Dover, Kenneth E. Shorts and companion Sherryll Harris of Charlotte, NC, and Gene E. and wife Jennifer Shorts of York; a daughter, Judy Lynn Shorts and companion Jeff Klinedinst of West York; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathan, Brooke, Austin, Ian, Landon, and Alexa; two great grandchildren, Collin and Delaney; and two brothers, Wade Snyder and John B. Snyder, Jr. both of Dallastown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Snyder.
