Brenda L. (Myers) Garee

RED LION – Brenda L. (Myers) Garee, 72, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy. She was the wife of Ronald E. Garee to whom she was married for 51 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with her pastor, The Rev. Ronald L. Doverspike. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Mt. Rose Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the Mt. Rose Avenue entrance at 12:45 PM. Born March 1, 1941 in York a daughter of the late Charles W. and Gladys V. (Smith) Myers, she was a 1959 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. She also was a graduate of Hagerstown Medical Secretarial School and received her LPN degree from York Co. Vocational Technical School. Mrs. Garee was an LPN at Rest Haven – York retiring after 20 years of service. Brenda enjoyed crocheting, baking, cooking, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She was also an avid Penn State Football fan and member of Bethany United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Garee is survived by a daughter, Melissa A. Wilson and her companion Todd Beckmeyer of Glen Rock; a son, Christian G. and wife Jamie Garee of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Justin Wilson, Alyssa Garee, Joshua Wilson, E. Tyler Garee, and Landen Garee; and a brother, Rev. Gregory C. and wife Deborah Myers of Hazelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 224 St. Charles Way, Suite 200, York, PA 17402, or Bethany U.M. Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356, or to a favorite charity. Cemetery: 1:00 PM Graveside service on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Family and friends will meet at the Mt. Rose Avenue entrance at 12:45 PM.
