NEW PARK- Brenda E. (Gemmil) Saylor, 70, died on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at York Hospital. She was the longtime companion of Russell A. Strine and beloved wife of the late Nelson Charles Saylor who died in 1977. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor David Feiser officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Born on December 31, 1951 in York County, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Jean (Mitchell) Gemmil. Brenda was an office manager at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum since April of 1997. She was also an aircraft mechanic and pilot. Mrs. Saylor was a life member of the Red Lion VFW Post 1446, a life member of the Mid Atlantic Air Museum and was responsible for developing WWII Weekend into the world-wide event that it is today. She loved gardening and loved all pets, especially her cat Randall, the Museum’s cat Little Guy, and dog Hank. Along with her longtime companion, Russell, Brenda leaves a daughter, Michelle Tyson of Red Lion; three grandchildren, David Hersey, Jessi D’Ignazio and Owen Hershner; one great grandson, Damon Spencer Hersey and one on the way, Silas Rain Hershner; two brothers, Bo Fosbenner and his wife, Sherri of Rinely and Tom Piersol and his companion, Christina Ashmore of Lebanon; sister, Gloria Saylor and her husband, Robert of Crossroads; and three nieces, Kira Wilson and her husband, Jarrett of Airville, Emily Piersol of Albuquerque, NM and Danielle Brinson of Chesapeake, VA.
