Bradford E. Early

EAST BERLIN- Bradford E. Early, 85, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Linda M. (Shireman) Early.

Born on December 31, 1938 in York, he was the only son of the late Cecil E. and Pauline L. (Smith) Early. Bradford proudly retired, after 30 years, from UPS where he began his career loading trucks, eventually working his way into Customer Service Sales until his retirement at age 55.

Mr. Early served our country in the United States Army for two years and nine months just prior to the Vietnam War. He was a proud member of his time of service in the American Security Agency (ASA) where he learned to decipher Morse Code. Bradford loved to tell people he was a spy for the ASA.

Bradford enjoyed off-shore fishing, riding his Burgman Halfabusa, golf and socializing with friends and neighbors. Retirement allowed him to spend time across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Florida. Bradford was also a proud member of the NRA and took pleasure in driving his BMW Z4. At the age of 84, he rekindled his passion for playing the guitar. His evenings were often spent with a Tito's dirty martini in one hand, a cigar in the other. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

Bradford is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and their daughter, Kimberly E. Herman, and her husband, Todd, of East Berlin; two grandchildren, Joseph Herman and his fiancée, Alli Schray, of Bethlehem, and Madison (Herman) Collins and her husband, Nicholas, of Jessup, MD; and his son-in-law, Jay Beitz, of Howe, TX, Bradford was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy L. Beitz, and his sisters, Jane V. Kennelly and Nancy A. Wishard.

A private graveside service will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in the fall. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
