Boyd E. Turner, Sr.

YORK- Boyd E. Turner, Sr., 78, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at Apple Hill Surgical & Rehabilitation Hospital. He was the husband of Carolyn Faye (Sellers) Turner. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this coming September. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with The Reverend William Baral and The Reverend Seminary Wicky L. Barnes III officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8 viewing on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the funeral home and Tuesday from 9-10 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born March 30, 1938 in Ft. Ashby, West Virginia, Boyd was the son of the late Eston H. and Lenora B. (Helmick) Turner. He worked for 26 years as a machine operator for Caterpillar until his retirement. Boyd enjoyed being outside, doing yard work, word searches and antique shows. He also was a sports fan, especially attending his children's games while they were growing up. In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Turner is survived by three sons, Boyd E. Turner, Jr. of York, Kenneth Turner and his wife Karen of Red Lion, and Robert A. Turner of Red Lion; two daughters, Letitia Knaub and her husband Rodney of York and Melissa Stoner and her husband Foster of York Springs; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Cody, Jessica, Zachariah, Abigail, Anthony, Heather, Foster, and Hannah; four great grandchildren, Anthony Brayden, Bellalynn, and Eleanor, and two step-great grandchildren, Genevieve and Isabella. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
