Bonny Lee (Barchak) Himmer

Milton - Formerly of Johnstown, PA Bonny Lee Himmer (Barchak) February 1, 1948 - August 4, 2008 A Host of Heavenly Angels have greeted Bonny and taken her from this world that she has served, shared, and loved with all of us to a place of peace and well-being with our LORD. There is no longer pain and fear. Now as an Angel, Bonny will continue to serve HIM and become our Guardian. Bonny will be waiting with love and joy to greet each of us at Heaven's Gate. Survived by her loving husband of too few years; Dennis, living in Milton, PA, and the Heart of her life, her loving son, Tom (Tommy) Himmer; his wife, Sondra (Suitor) Himmer; the gleams of "Backa's" beautiful eyes, Davis (10), a wonderful "what, where, and why" grandson; and Cole (7), a wonderfully sweet, non-stop grandson with a heart of gold (the eighth and ninth wonders of the world) all living in Humble, Texas. Also, she is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Strait, Betty Kuras, and Barbara Rodgers and husband David all living in Johnstown, PA; and her brothers Jack Barchak and wife Doris of Altoona, PA and Joe Barchak of Harrisburg, PA; and a "Chosen Sister" Connie Mentzer of Harrisburg, PA; cousins of Judy Fugal and husband Jack, and Joanne Sebes of Hidden Valley, PA; and nieces and nephews Susie, Jim, Nat, Renee, Stevie, Marianna, Christian, Andrew, Phillip, Phyllis Karen, Ethan, Michael, Justin, Dee and Billy (WP), Eddie (SEW), Davy, Lesta, Sarah, Ed, Dana, Anna Grace, Sara, Janeen (God Child), Brianna, Tammy, Bobby, Tim, Jamie, Marsha, Dan, Sean (God Child), Annie Rose, Joseph, Matthew, Noel, Cindy, Tim and Megan. Preceded in death by beloved parents, John and Anna (Kenjesky) Barchak; and sisters, infant Delores Barchak and Patsy Jerpe (WBMW; brother, Bob Barchak (Candy Man); brothers-in-law Gene Strait, Eddie Kuras, Dave Mentzer; and nieces Karla Glover and Barbara Ann Kuras. You were, are, and always will be with Bonny. She loves you always. She always remembered with wonderful thoughts, prayers, and love, Susie, Ron, Coke, Kathy, John Dave, Madeline, Sylvester, Leon, Sue, Joe, Katherine, Marty, Margie, John, Helen, Jeanne, Kathy Marian, Johnny, Donna, Dorothy, Carol, Bobby, Wally, Stella, Tommy, Bert, Zigmund, Bert, Willy, Dave, Betty, Bob, Jim, Becky, Ray, Charles, Ray, Debbie, Vivian, Spike, Jim, Bill, Joanne, Diana George, Vern, Sherry, Butch, Bob, Cass, George, Keith (The Mayor), Bob, Adrienne, Tony, Millie, Norma, Dave, Dom, Marie, Tony, George, Ruby, Jean, Steve, Mark, Rafie, Margie, George and Helen (Special Thanks), Eleanor, Ed, Pat, Joe, Helen Harold, Pauline, Nancy, Nelson, Heidi, Rich, Carol, her wonderful Doctors and their Staffs, Patty, Christa (Special Thanks), and Schooch, Father Tom. The only parish at which Bonny was ever a member is St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Johnstown, PA. It was Bonny's family parish where she was baptized, received her first Holy Communion, Confirmation, and attended parochial school through the eighth grade. Bonny graduated from Bishop McCort High School in 1966 and Cambria-Rowe Business College in 1967. Bonny was always taking care of others. Over the years, she raised thousands of dollars helping many different charities. She enjoyed serving her parents and was always available for them. She visited the sick, volunteered at church, helped her neighbors, and invited those that were alone into her home. Bonny took great joy in maintaining her home and cooking for and looking after her family. In her 35-year business career she was a distinguished, top ranked sales representative who had a special relationship with her customers that remained until her death. She was a modern woman who respected the traditional ways of life and lived for both. Bonny's presence made a difference in this world. She was a world class, daughter, sister, mother, wife, "Backa", and friend. The greatest joy in Bonny's life is her family, the many parts within which she was nurtured and raised, shared and enjoyed throughout her life and the parts that Bonny raised and nurtured, shared and enjoyed. These created the essence that was, is and will always be Bonny. The greatest of all the many wonderful events of Bonny's life were being there for the births of Tom, Davis, and Cole; the marriage of Tom to Sondra, and her own marriage to Dennis. These have led and will continue to lead to such wonders. Bonny's heart is full of love and her last thoughts were of us and her Lord. Whenever we need Bonny in our lives, she will always be there, right next door. I love you. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 609 Park Ave., Johnstown, PA 15902. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front.
