Bonnie R. (Shadell) Kohlbus

YORK- Bonnie Rose (Shadell) Kohlbus, 85, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center in Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late Marvin F. Kohlbus, Sr. with whom she was married 63 years prior to his passing. At Bonnie’s request, a graveside service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Born May 20, 1932 in York, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Harold Shadell and Eleanor Urich. She enjoyed camping, auctions, knitting and crocheting, and she was dedicated to her beloved cats. Mrs. Kohlbus is survived by a son, Marvin F. Kohlbus, Jr. of York; a daughter, Yvonne S. and husband Stephen Royer of East Prospect; four grandchildren, Angela and husband Joseph Lindemuth, Tina and husband Neil Mahoney, Stephen Royer, Jr. and fiancée Adriana, and Shonta Biser; three great-grandchildren, Leah DeJesus, Brittany Mort, and JC Olivares, and four great-great-grandchildren, Alivia and Carter DeJesus, and Zane and Joshua Dutton. In addition to her husband and parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a grandson, Marvin F. Kohlbus III. Bonnie is now at peace with Our Lord Jesus Christ. She is now forever with her beloved Marvin. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bonnie’s loyal friend, Chris Stine, for caring for her cats while Bonnie resided with her daughter and son-in-law in her last days.
