Bonita L. "Bonnie" Radel

RED LION – Bonita L. “Bonnie” (Miller) Radel, 75, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022 at ProMedica Facility in Dallastown, PA. She was the wife of Eugene A. “Dunner” Radel Jr. to whom she was married for 53 years. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 3-6:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, PA 17356. Born on August 24th, 1946 in York, PA, a daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (Eppley) Miller; she was a 1964 graduate of Dallastown Area High School and a 1968 graduate of Millersville University. Bonnie’s degree was in education, and she was employed with Dallastown Area School District for her entire career, until retirement in 2007. During her teaching career, she taught math and science disciplines for the elementary and middle school grades. In addition, she also served as the Dallastown Jr. High Volleyball Coach for 12 seasons. Before and during retirement, Mrs. Radel loved traveling to many of the world’s great countries alongside her husband. She also volunteered at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen and helped individuals attain their GED Diplomas. Her favorite times were spent catching up with family and friends (old and new), soaking up the Caribbean sun in Jamaica and spending time in Key West, FL. Bonnie also enjoyed playing in the Bocce League at Victor’s Restaurant. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Radel is survived by a daughter, Nicole R. and husband Joshua Renner of York; a son, Zachary A. Radel and wife Laura DePrator of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Nathaniel and Zoe Renner and Zinnia Mae Radel; two nephews, Kurt and Michael Stein; and a niece, Betsy Hoffmaster.
