Bobby G. Bowman

YORK- Bobby G. Bowman, 64, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen D. (Brillhart) Bowman. The couple had been married for over 45 years. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday February 5, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Betty Frey, Certified Celebrant officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Mr. Bowman was born on October 21, 1946 in York, a son of the late Mark and Lena C. (Miller) Bowman. Bobby worked as a Machine Operator at York International for over 40 years until his retirement. Mr. Bowman fixed and repaired lawn mowers. Most people referred to him as the Lawnmower Man. He also enjoyed hunting. Bobby was kind hearted and was well liked by everyone. Along with his wife, Kathleen, Bobby is survived by two sons, Robert M. Bowman and his fianc, Helena of York and William M. Bowman and his wife, Julie of Spring Grove; a daughter, Alicia Bowman of York; 10 grandchildren, Conor, Matthew, Arik, Tina, Christopher, Ashley, Tyler, Dylan, Colyn and Cade; a brother, G. Dean Bowman of Freeland, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carn Bowman.
