Blanche E. (Stein) Ellis

Red Lion — Blanche E. (Stein) Ellis, 95, died Monday, January 20, 2014 at her residence in Windsor Township. She was the wife of the late Quinton R. Ellis to whom she was married for 48 years until his passing in 1989. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:30 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with her pastor, the Rev. Ronald E. Heagy officiating. A viewing will be held from 1:30-2:30 PM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Freysville Union Cemetery. Born April 28, 1918 in Windsor Township, she was a daughter of the late Horace W. and Lillie M. (Musser) Stein. She was a 1936 graduate of Red Lion High School. She was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family and for several years she was employed with Jack’s Ladies Apparel. A life member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ-Freysville, she was also a member the church choir for many years. She was a member of the Lioness Club in York, an avid quilter, enjoyed traveling, touring other countries, taking cruises and spending time with family. Mrs. Ellis is survived by one son, Craig D. Ellis and wife, Donna of York; two daughters, Barbara A. Fisher and husband, Arnold of Bergenfield, NJ and Joan M. Daugherty and husband, Donald of Dallastown; seven grandchildren, Debbie, Diane, Bill, Susie, Eric, Brian and Emily; ten great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, G. Russell Stein and three sisters, Frances Stein, Madelene Butcher and E. Mae Burk.
