Beverly M. (Goodwin) Mooney

Beverly M. (Goodwin) Mooney, 79, died on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Kingston Court Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Charles P. Mooney to whom she was married 56 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 251 East Main St., Dallastown with Father Mark Weiss officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born on March 10, 1944 in Cambridge, MA, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Evelyn M. (Reid) Goodwin. Beverly was a 1961 graduate of St. Clement High School in Medford, MA, a 1962 graduate of Wilfred Academy of Hair and Beauty Culture in Boston, MA and also took a marketing course at York College. She worked as a Library Aide at the Children’s Room at Martin Memorial Library and McKinley Elementary School in York from 1989-1996 and was a Furniture Sales Clerk at Smith Village Clearance Center from 1996 until retiring in 2013.

Mrs. Mooney volunteered as a Library Aide at the Children’s Room at Martin Memorial Library from 1984-1989, as a Librarian at St. Joseph Elementary School in Dallastown from 1988-1989 and a Collection Team Member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown from 2003-2017.

Along with her husband, Charles, Beverly is survived by her son, Stephen Mooney and his wife, Sara of Mount Wolf; two grandchildren, Lucas and Maria; and her uncle, CPO Paul Reid, USN retired of Atlantic Beach, FL.
