Beverly Jane "Bunny" Grove

YORK- Beverly ‘Bunny’ Grove, 71, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025 in York, PA. 

Born on April 5, 1953, in Abington, PA. Her life was marked by a faithfulness to Christ, boundless energy, devotion to her family and passion for teaching. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Juanita College, and her Master’s Degree in Education from Marywood University.

In 1976, Bunny married the love of her life, Al, whom she met at Juanita. Bunny moved to York, Pennsylvania in 1977 where she and her husband built a life filled with laughter and love.

Bunny is survived by her husband Al, her daughter Jodie, her daughter Julie, her son-in-law Derek, her grandchild Cole, and her cat, Ollie. She is also survived by her sister, Joy. Bunny was predeceased by her parents, Gifford and Harriet Abbott, and her brother, Gifford Abbott Jr.

In her professional life, Bunny was a 35-year teacher for York City School District. Bunny passionately dedicated herself to her students, their education, and encouragement of a bright future. 

Bunny’s greatest desire in life was to spend time with her family. She and Al enjoyed many bike rides, Barnes & Noble dates, evenings with Fox News, and trips to their favorite places, Nantucket and Cape May. She was a devoted mother, full of affection, high expectations, and endless patience.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at noon on February 1, 2025 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a visitation from 11 am-noon. Certified Celebrant Allison Duke will be officiating at the service. Bunny’s legacy of love, strength, and zest for life will forever be remembered.
