WILKES-BARRE - Beverly A. (McCloe) Golden, 68, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday morning, December 2, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born on June 1, 1941, Beverly was a daughter of the late Vernon and Ida Mae (Flakes) McCloe. She worked at Walmart as a greeter, and was a member of New Covenant Christian Fellowship. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who touched many lives through her love and kindness. She was preceded in death by a sister, Denise. Surviving is her loving husband, Leroy Golden; beloved children, Jerome McCloe and his wife Leeann, Wilkes-Barre, Howard Walker and his wife Maryann, Dupont, Darryl Carr and his wife Sondra, Philadelphia, April Walker, Wilkes-Barre, and Robin Spence and her fianc矋ieth McDougal, Wilkes-Barre; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Arlington "Butch" McCloe, Vernon McCloe, Jr., Everett McCloe, and Maurice McCloe, all of Wilkes-Barre; sisters Elizabeth Anderson of Plains, Arline McClure, Brenda Seabrook, Gloria Watson, Linda Gilliom, Carol Golden, and Valerie McCloe, all of Wilkes-Barre; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 5, at New Covenant Christian Fellowship, 780 S Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 at 11am with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Reverend Wallace Smith will officiate. Internment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9pm on Friday, December 4, at the church. The family would like to thank Dr. Elizabeth Gernhardt and her staff for the wonderful care they provided for Beverly during her illness. Arrangements are being handled by Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., Wilkes-Barre.
