Betty Lou Neff

YORK- Betty Lou Neff, 89, of York Township, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. She was the wife of the late David J. Neff. The couple was married for 61 years upon David’s passing in 2016.


A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Rd. in Red Lion, with a viewing from 1-2p.m. Burial will be in Bethlehem Stonepile U.M. Church Cemetery. Pastor Bryant Holtzapple will be officiating at the service. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is assisting the family with the arrangements.


Mrs. Neff was born in Southern York County on June 20, 1934, a daughter of the late J. Donnell and Martha E. (Bacon) Taylor. She retired from Windsor Manor Elementary School, where she worked as a cook in the cafeteria.


Mrs. Neff was a life-long member of Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church in Red Lion, where she was active in the choir and served as a Sunday school teacher and was active in The United Methodist Womens group. She was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Gideon’s Ladies auxiliary. She was an avid tea drinker and enjoyed going out for tea as well as collecting tea cups, and strawberry and bee collectibles. She also enjoyed counted cross stitch.


Mrs. Neff leaves a daughter, Amy N. Glock and her husband Thomas of Red Lion; two sons, Tracy D. Neff and his wife Tracey of York and Carey W. Neff and his wife Karen of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Glock, Haden Glock (Olivia), Ryan Neff, Sarah Neff, Zachary Neff, and Aaron Neff; two step grandchildren, Abby Imm (Joe), and Trisha Baker. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dwight, Ross, and Merle Taylor, and a sister Hilda Goheen.
