Betty L. Shoemaker

DOVER--Betty L. Shoemaker, 81, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at her residence in Dover Township.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date to be determined. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements.

Born March 09, 1942 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Don and Sadie C. (Flinchbaugh) Shoemaker.

She was employed as a beautician for many years, the majority of which she owned and operated her own beauty shop. Later, she worked at the Bon-Ton Distribution Center and the Clinique make up counter in the Hanover Mall.

A member of Paradise (Holtzschwann) Evangelical Covenant Church, she also enjoyed country music and square dancing. She was a 1960 graduate of West York High School.

Ms. Shoemaker is survived by one sister, Nancy L. Katz and her husband, James E. Schlosser of Dover and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Shoemaker and one sister, E. Arlene Kapp.
