Betty L. Lipschutz

Dover – The Spirit of Life departed Betty L. Lipschutz, 79, on Monday, September 27, 2021 at her home after a brief illness. She was the wife of Barry L. Lipschutz for 43 years. Born August 12, 1942 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late James and Odessa Lowe. Besides her husband, she is survived by their son Benjamin and his wife Christina, and their children Ella, Claira, and Ezra, niece Michelle Snyder and nephew William Ross and their families. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Ross. Betty was a graduate of Messiah and Shippensburg Universities and taught elementary classes in the Dover Area School District for over 30 years. She volunteered at the Family Clothes Tree, taught adult dance, was a member of the White Rose Polka Dancers, and was on the Member Advisory Committee and Scholarship Committee of Adams Electric Corp and a past member of the Dover Lions Club. Betty love to read, do crossword puzzles, Sudoku puzzles, and make crochet jewelry. She loved to sit out on her back porch. She had the opportunity to travel to many resorts and countries with her husband. There will be a gathering of family and friends to say goodbye from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Cremation will follow.
