MONAGHAN TWP.- Jean Alleman, 82, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Holy Spirit Hospital. A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry, with Certified Celebrant, Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held 9-10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Harrisburg Cemetery. Miss. Alleman was born April 9, 1928, in the same house she lived all her life, to a Samuel H. and Stephanie M. Alleman. She was a 1946 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. She was a former employee of Walter G. OConnor Company for over 30 years where she worked as an Executive Assistant and model for some of the agencys advertising. In her earlier years she worked as a professional fashion model and for a motion picture studio. But since the day she was born, she lived and worked on the 50 acre farm that belonged to her parents and then to her, which she maintained and operated by herself after her parents death. Miss. Alleman was very active in local politics and was once on the townships committee. She was a very beautiful and vibrant woman who always dressed to the nines when she went out, and could easily slip into her rural life once she returned home. Miss. Alleman is survived by two nephews, Dennis C. Taschek and wife, Patricia L. of Frenchtown, NJ, and Alex F. Taschek of Duncannon, PA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles S. Alleman; a sister, Helen F. Taschek; a nephew Charles S. Alleman, Jr.; and a niece, Helen Morrett. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA, 17402.
