Betty Jane Dettmore

WILKES-BARRE-Betty Jane (Leo) Dettmore, 73, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010, at Hospice Community Care at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Born on December 16, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Madeline (Cameron) Leo. Betty Jane worked at various places in Wilkes-Barre while her children were in school. She loved her independence, and in her later years she was often seen riding her scooter around town. She was an advocate for the rights of Handicapped Individuals. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Carl V. Dettmore, who died January 14, 2003. Betty Jane is survived by her children, son, Vincent Dettmore and wife Dolores "Dee", Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Deborah Migliori and husband Paul, of Hanover Twp, and Cheryl DeHaut and husband Joseph, of Forty Fort; grandchildren, Vanessa Dettmore and Stephen Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc. at 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, January 11, 2010.
