WILLIAMSPORT - Betty J. "Will" (Miller) Brown, 88, a former resident of Center Street, died on Monday, October 08, 2007 at Rose View Center where she has resided for two years. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Brown who had died in 1989. Betty was born on September 24, 1919 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Alonzo Miller and Pearl V. (Cole). She was a cook for many years for the Sisters of IHM and had worked at Divine Providence Hospital in the housekeeping department. She was a member of the A.M.E. Zion Church and a dedicated life member of the Nancy Wiley-Wilson Temple #1036 for which she served faithfully. She had held numerous offices in the local, state and national levels. She also enjoyed cooking. Betty is survived by one granddaughter; Jeannette E. Hunter of Harrisburg, three great grandchildren; David, Sean and Janessa, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Betty L. Hunter in 1996, one granddaughter; Vanessa L. Hunter-Henderson in 1999 and one sister; Eleanor L. Edwards in 1996. The funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a memorial service held at 6:45 p.m. by the Nancy Wiley-Wilson Lodge. Burial will be private at Twin Hills Memorial Park.
