Betty J. Mehring

YORK – Betty J. (Grove) Mehring, 88, passed away at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on September 22, 2021. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Mehring. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road in York with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Littlestown. Born October 2, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Percy C. and Margie E. (Bair) Grove. After school, Mrs. Mehring worked as a Candy Maker with Kathern Beecher Mints for many years until she retired. Mrs. Mehring will always be remembered for being a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was also member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for over 60 years. Mrs. Mehring is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Walker and her husband David; a son, Craig Mehring and his wife Lynn; five grandchildren, Ryan Zimmerman, Judston Mehring, Nicole Mehring – Guss, John Mehring, Casey Walker, Lacey Horner, and Nikka Wilson; and a sister, Shirley Noel. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mehring is preceded in death by two sons, Bruce Mehring, and Ronald Mehring.
