Betty J. Grove, 'Maw'

RED LION - Betty J. Grove, “Maw”, 86, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. She was the wife of Glenn F. Grove with whom she celebrated a 65th wedding anniversary on June 22nd. Viewings will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday and 9 to 10 am Tuesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A Celebration of Life service will be 10 am Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Donald R. Belch, pastor of Eastside Church and Ministries, officiating. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Grove was born August 16, 1925, in Dallastown. She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Alverta May (Lehman) Dellinger. Mrs. Grove was a devoted homemaker. She loved spending time with her family whether decorating for all the different holidays or simply going for car rides together. She conveyed her love and respect of God to her family and led by example as she spent a large part of her life serving as her mother’s personal caregiver. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working with her flowers. She was also a former Girl Scout and was a 1943 graduate of Dallastown High School where she played on the girls’ basketball team. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Grove is survived by her four sons, Larry G. Grove, Kevin S. Grove, Keith W. Grove and wife, Shelby, and Brent A. Grove and wife Ursula; two daughters, Karen A. Striebig and Nancy L. Roach and husband, Scott; six grandchildren, Ian I. Grove and wife, Becky, Breanna M. Einsig, Gavyn Grove, Carsten Grove, Nathan A. Grove and Kristin N. Grove; and two great grandchildren, Naomi D. Kuhlman and Wyntre E. Grove. She was preceded in death by her sister, Miriam Willwert; her two brothers, Levere and Kenneth Dellinger; and her great granddaughter, Eden E. Grove.
