Betty J. (Bennett) Shemory

NEW COLUMBIA - Betty J. (Bennett) Shemory, 69, died on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. Betty was born on July 7, 1943 in Lewisburg and was the daughter of the late Warren T. and Bessie L. (Miller) Bennett. She had worked at the Arrowhead as a cook and waitress for over 10 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, New Columbia and enjoyed going to the cabin, shopping and being with friends. Betty is survived by her companion of 30 years; Richard A. Byers of New Columbia, one son; Gary Lee Shemory of Milton and one brother; Edward L. Bennett of New Columbia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother; Warren T. Bennett who was killed in the Vietnam War. There will be a public viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton. Cremation will follow the viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
