Betty E. (Barley) Weaver

HOPKINSVILLE, KY- Betty E. (Barley) Weaver, 93, died on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. She was the wife of the late Richard E. Weaver, who died June 29, 1999. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Heiland View Cemetery, 3050 Cape Horn Rd., Red Lion. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on March 25, 1924 in Dallastown, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Grace (Stump) Barley. She was a 1941 graduate of Dallastown High School. Betty worked 29 years in the executive office at Autocraft Box Corporation, retiring on June 30, 1988. Mrs. Weaver was a 50 years member of Bethlehem U.M. Church in Dallastown where she was a former choir member. She was also a 50 year member of Rainbow Chapter #517 O.E.S. Red Lion and a member of National AARP, Red Lion AARP #1773 and Chorus, Ladies’ Auxiliary, Rescue Fire Co. #1, Dallastown Golden Ages and Red Lion Senior Center. Mrs. Weaver is survived by one son, Richard J. Weaver of Hopkinsville, KY; one grandson, Justin J. Weaver of Owensboro, KY; and sister in law, Delores Barley of Dallastown. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John Barley, Jr., Paul Barley, Anthony Barley and Harry Barley; and one sister, Pauline Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem U.M.
