WELLSBURG- Betty Ann (Berezansky) Graley, 71, of Springfield, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Betty was born on February 23, 1940 in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Charles Berezansky and Jennie (Wilk) Berezansky Shames. She served her country in the US Army as a medic in Viet Nam during the war. After the army she became a Registered Nurse and worked at Sayre House, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Troy Community Hospital, Towanda Community Hospital, and the Bradford County Manor. Betty was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ridgebury and was part of the Bradford County Literacy Program at the Bradford County Jail, was a Boy Scout leader, and was a Post Leader for the Explorers at Troy Hospital. She was also an artist who enjoyed painting and was a world traveler. Betty is survived by her sons; Gary (Donna) Graley of Mosherville, PA, Gregory S. (Mariann) Graley of Elmira Heights, NY, William Graley of Manassas, VA, and Michael Graley of Springfield, PA, her granddaughters; Samantha, Heather, Colleen, Chelsea, Sarah, Caitlyn, and Jennifer, her great grandsons Ian and Carter, her brother Wasyal Berezansky, her uncle Julius Wick of New Jersey and her aunt Violet McGuire of Florida, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her step father Abe Shames, and her twin daughters. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 9:00-10:00 AM on Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY. The memorial service to honor Betty’s life will be held at 10:00 Am on Monday, January 30th at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Andrew Hvovdovic officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of Betty’s family in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Bradford County Literacy Program, 200 Main Street Towanda, PA 18848.
