MILTON - Betty A. (Deichert) Lewis, 73, died on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Kramm Health Care Center, Milton. Betty was born in St. Paul, VA on December 19, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Irvin Ross and Esther H. (Strouphauer) Deichert. She was a graduate of Milton High School. On April 28, 1956, she married the late Thomas L. Lewis who had died on October 21, 2002 and had celebrated 46 years of marriage before his death. She had worked at Vogels Cleaners for 36 years. Betty enjoyed all types of music, plants, taking rides, eating out and spending time with her family. She had attended Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton. Betty is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; David R. and Tara E. Lewis of Watsontown and Michael M. Lewis of Milton, one daughter and two sons-in-law; Debra L. and Ray E. Phillips of Milton and Tim J. Hans of Lewisburg, five grandchildren; Melissa DeBerry of Milton, Brian Heckman of Montandon, Christopher Hans of Lewisburg, Taryn Phillips and Stevie Weaver, both of Watsontown and four great-grandchildren; Liam DeBerry, Haiden DeBerry, Gabbie Heckman and Ava DeBerry. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Cathy E. Hans, one grandson; Timothy Joseph Hans, one sister; Evelyn Orphan and one half-brother; Carl Lehman. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton with the Reverend Kenneth E. Paulhamus officiating. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, 555 Gettysburg Pike, Suite A300, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Ave., Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or the Building Fund of Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Rd., Milton, PA 17847.
