Bertha M. Buss" (Gerould) Brown

WEST BURLINGTON- Bertha M. "Buss" (Gerould) Brown, 91, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2007 at the Bradford County Manor. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 6:30 to 7:30 PM on Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, April 13th at the funeral home with her nephew, Robert Morse officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Bradford County Memorial Park. Buss was born on September 23, 1915 in East Smithfield, PA she was the daughter of the late Merritt W. and Sadie Belle S. (Breese) Gerould. She attended the local Smithfield School. During her marriage she lived in the Athens area for many years. Later Larchmont, NY became her residence and place of employment. After her retirement in the late 1970's, Bertha moved back home to Pennsylvania to be near her brothers and sisters settling in Troy. Buss loved the quiet life and enjoying the company of her family and friends, especially when playing cards. She will be truly missed by all. Bertha is survived by her sisters: Gladys B. Maciel of Elmira, NY, Shirley L. Beach of Gillett, and Betty J. Russick of East Smithfield, PA along with several nieces and nephews. Buss was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Hubert, Clayton, Gordon, Manley, and Carroll Gerould, and sisters: Irene Hamilton, Ruth Morse, and Marjorie Gerould.
