Bertha Gannis

Bertha Gannis, 88, Pottsville died Wednesday evening at Golden Living Center- York Terrace, Pottsville. Born July 6, 1925 in Frackville, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary (Matalaitis) Gannis. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Peter Gannis; sisters, Mary Laneus and Helen Merinsky; a niece Gerrir Thirion. She is survived by her nieces, Dolores Rhoads, Arlene Papay, Nancy Delaney, Joan Youst; nephews, Victor and John Merinsky; a great nephew, Bertha’s beloved Michael Youst and eight other great nieces and nephews; seven great-great nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & West Market Streets Pottsville. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
