MILTON- Bertha E. (Dunkle) Walls, 95, of New Columbia, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Kramm Health Care Center in Milton, PA surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late John A. Walls, Sr. who passed away on March 6, 1983. The couple married on June 3, 1933 and had 49 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Dale Ranck Funeral Service, 125 North Front Street, Milton, PA. The funeral service to honor Bertha's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 18th at the funeral home with Rev. Catrina Ciccone of the United in Christ Lutheran Church in West Milton Officiating. Burial will follow the service in Harmony Cemetery. Bertha was born on November 25, 1913 in Milton, PA, daughter of the late Henry F. and Ida Pearl (Launslager) Dunkle. She retired in 1975 from Fox-n-Knapp in Milton where she was a seamstress. Bertha attended Gods Missionary Church in New Columbia. She was very passionate about her family. She loved to bake and sew for them. She liked camping and singing many were amazed by how many songs she knew and sang. Bertha is survived by her son John A. (Zona) Walls, Jr. of New Columbia, PA, her daughters: Eleanor Finan of Milton, PA and Carolyn (Gerald) Baker Lewisburg, PA, seventeen grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her four daughters: Lenna and Sandra Walls, Virginia Engle, and Helen Robbins, her grandson Gregory Engle, her brothers: Lee, Raymond, Charlie, and Clarence, and her sister Viola. Contributions may be made in Bertha's memory to the White Deer Township Fire Company, 366 Cemetery Street New Columbia, PA 17856.
