Bernice Loucks Kauffman

WEST YORK- Bernice Loucks Kauffman, 92, died Monday, November 22, 2010 at Rest Haven in York. A Graveside Service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Greenmount Cemetery. Her pastor, The Reverend Patrick J. Rooney will be officiating at the service. Funeral Cortege will form at the main entrance of cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Bernice was born in York on July 16, 1918, a daughter of the late William M. and Florence V. (Loucks) Kauffman. She taught Social Studies and Music for 7th, 8th, and 9th grades at Edgar Fahs Smith Middle School retiring in 1979. Bernice was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in York, a graduate of West York High School, Circa 1936 and West Chester University. She was a member of Business and Professional Women\'s Association, Women\'s Club of York, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Bernice leaves two cousins, Chalmers L. Ensminger, M.D., of Greencastle, PA and Mary Elizabeth Ensminger of Charlottesville, VA. She was preceded in death by a cousin, Susan Graham and numerous other cousins.
