Bernard G. 'Goldy' Goliash, Sr.

WILLIAMSPORT - Bernard G. “Goldy” Goliash, Sr., 81, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, Williamsport. He was born in Glen Lyon on September 05, 1933 and was the son of the late George A. and Marcella (Sieptowski) Goliash. Bernard served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On October 26, 1957 Bernard married the former Sarah J. (Haines) and they celebrated 51 years of marriage together until her death on August 26, 2009. He worked for the F.A.A. for 34 years as a Radar Electronic Technician and retired in 1986. Goldy was a member of St. Boniface Church, Williamsport, military shooting club, the sportsmans club where he was a marksman shooter and avid trap shooter. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, working on anything that was mechanical, reloading ammunition and spending time with his family. Bernard is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; George M. and Janenne Goliash of Trout Run and Bernard G. Goliash, Jr., of Montgomery, three daughters and one son-in-law; Gina and Mike Miller of Williamsport, Lisa Miller of South Williamsport and Denise M. Goliash of Williamsport, six grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one sister; Jean Phillips of Wanamie, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A public viewing will be held 9:00-10:00a.m., Saturday, October 04, 2014 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport, PA followed by the funeral at 10:00a.m. with the Reverend Monsignor Stephen McGough officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery with full military honors by the Korean War Vets of Lycoming County.
