Benjamin R. Ferree

Lock Haven - Benjamin R. Ferree, age 76, died at his residence on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009. He was born in Mackeyville, Pa. on April 1, 1933, son of the late Ernest and Mary (Williams) Ferree. He worked as a night watchman at the Piper Aircraft plant, was an avid fisherman and camper, enjoyed life, and had a great sense of humor. Ben loved family time especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and spending time with his dog "Goober." He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann in 2002 and 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are his daughters: Linda (John) Cunningham and Deborah (James) Napier both of Grove City, Ohio, Kimberly Ferree of Columbus, Ohio, Lisa (Mark) McCullough of Dublin, Ohio, Lori Coleman of Lock Haven, and Tammy Ferree and Jeff Stahl of Mill Hall, sons: Benjamin (Vivian ) Ferree Jr. of Chicago, Ill., Cary Ferree and Curt (Mary) Ferree both of Lock Haven. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, sisters: Margie Baker Shivley of N. Carolina and Doris (Fred) McCauley of Lock Haven, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Pastor Donald Grant officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
