YORK- Beatrice Mardella (Daugherty) Anderson, 100, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at The Haven @ Springwood. She was the wife of the late J. Edgar Anderson. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Chaplain Nan S. Garber will be officiating at the service. Mrs. Anderson was born in York on August 10, 1917, the daughter of the late Spurgeon H. and Cora E. (Barnhart) Daugherty. She was a housewife and a dairy farmer. She held part time positions at Dauphin Deposit Bank, Red Lion School District, Mrs. Smith’s Pies, and the Former Red Lion Country Club. Mrs. Anderson was an avid doll collector and enjoyed crocheting. She and her late husband had been members of the Steam-O-Rama. Mrs. Anderson leaves three daughters, Shirley M. Hess (Charles) of Kenton, Ohio, Barbara A. Miller (Marlin) of Goodyear, Arizona, and Susan Sechrist (Tim) of York; a son, William G. Anderson (Joyce) of Red Lion; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, with a new addition on the way; 10 great, great grandchildren; a brother, Norman Daugherty of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, John E. Anderson, Jr.; two granddaughters, Lona Sue Anderson-Wilson and Penny Marie Hess; and siblings: Emory, Earl, Viola, Paul, Mildred, and Roy.
